CD – ‘June Hayes - Journey for the Return Home’ »Listen to the upbeat, occasionally bittersweet songs on local singer/songwriter/lyricist June Hayes’ Journey for the Return Home, one of 2013’s first new Kiwi artist releases, and you wouldn’t guess that the amazing musical creativity of the 13 all-original tracks is born of unimaginable grief. The club is family orientated, safe boating is the number one rule and organises fishing competitions as well as a variety of social events. New home for HIbiscus Hospice Shop »One of the Coast’s most successful second hand shops has moved to a new permanent home. The Hibiscus Hospice shop in Whangaparaoa has relocated to bigger and brighter premises at 65 Karepiro Drive (opposite Mitre 10) – and opened its doors on 29th January. Operations Manager Alastair Hitchiner is excited about the move “These new premises allow us to bring together the shop, donation and sorting areas back under one roof, which is good not only for the convenience of our customers but also for the morale of our volunteer staff. There’s also parking available both on site and street side - and of course with the larger floor area, we’ll be able to stock a full range of goods including furniture once more.”  Saturday, 02 February 2013 10:19
New Zealand Soap Box Derby Winner! »After a very successful Whangaparaoa Rotary Soap Box Derby on Saturday 6 April at Brightside Road the New Zealand Nationals were held at the same venue on Sunday 7 April with teams travelling from the four venues of West Auckland, East Auckland, Northcote and of course Whangaparaoa. The winner was a local boy from Orewa College, Dylan Smith who will travel to Akron, Ohio in the USA in July to compete in the International Division of the All American Soap Box Derby  Tuesday, 09 April 2013 17:47
