26 women enter the ring – 26 fighters leave »Saturday saw the culmination of 12 weeks of training for Fight Girls with the ultimate of ring fights at the Orewa Arts and Events Centre. Twenty six women, aged from 16 to well into the 40’s, entered the ring for the first time to raise money for Neonatal Trust and Chariot Trust. Blood, sweat and tears were shed in the buildup. Which involved 4-5 days a week training for most. Lead by the most experienced trainers at Dynamic Martial Arts, they were not only taught the principles of kickboxing but were put through their paces to become cardio fit for the event.  Friday, 24 May 2013 15:13
Biz Kids launch at The Plaza » Biz Kids launched their first market at The Plaza on Sunday 19 May. The brainchild of the recently appointed Manager at The Plaza, Anne Murphy, who is keen to inject some new initiatives around the area, and with assistance from local business woman, Christina Galvin, of Mums the Word, the team gathered together some of our Hibiscus Coast innovative kids to showcase their talents and sell their wares giving them an opportunity not previously available. 19 stalls were set up and managed successfully on the day with a wide variety of goods from baked goods, handmade crafts, hot donuts, jewellery and busking!  Tuesday, 21 May 2013 22:05
